This is a beautiful, more casual matelasse' from a California designer, made in Italy. Although it has a good bit of wool content, it's got a more cottony hand and look, so it's more of an all-season fabric. The irregular stripes run vertically and have an ottoman-like texture, and it's a suiting weight with a firm yet very malleable drape. The colors are shades of brick, merlot, gray and black, mixed to create a more complex color palette (PANTONE 18-1616 is a good indicator of the red tonalities). Much more vivid and textured in real life! Perfect for a very cool jacket, vest, fitted dress, skirt... Mix the direction of the stripes for a unique designer look!
