This is a twill weight cotton from Italy, similar to a medium weight denim, and the weave is a fancy herringbone, with the stripes running across the fabric. But this fabric is meant to be cut with the stripes oriented vertically on your pattern pieces (so you would lay your pattern pieces from selvedge to selvedge for the length), so I have shown the top photo with the stripes going vertically. The mini-herringbone weave creates a smart and sophisticated stripe and texture, and the color is a two-tone gray. There's slight mechanical stretch in the length only. Perfect for fitted pants, skirt or jacket. Hand or machine wash in cold water--please test first.
