NY designer 2-ply printed novelty crepe - floral
contents: poly/nyl/visc
width: 46"
origin: NY designer
From the sample room of a NY designer, this is a type of fabric I've never seen before, with quite an interesting texture! I would descriBe the weight and drape as similar to "scuba" but the construction and hand are quite different. The underlayer is a white woven mesh, and the overlayer is a very crepey knit. They are somehow interwoven (not glued or fused), to create a lighter, more spongy texture than scuba. The print is a charming "Anna Sui - ish" decorative floral with intermittent vertical stripes, in tones of coral, dusty light pink, mocha, soft yellow, black and off white (PANTONE 16-1641, 13-2004, 12-0824, etc.). It has about 15% stretch and a 5.5" pattern repeat across the width. Best for a simple jacket, minimalist tunic, pencil skirt, etc. Test first for hand or machine washing. Hand to dry.
