This is an absolutely lovely vintage print, very feminine and nostalgic, in tones of wine and beige. The fabric is new and very current! A fabric similar to onionskin, which I am calling "onionsilk" because of its more buttery, soft hand. Very drapey, with the papyrus-like texture of onionskin, very smooth, a little sheer, very lightweight, stretch in the width, stable in the length. Onionsilk can stand on its own or can be lined---depends on what you're making, and how much coverage you like. A lovely fabric, a step up from onionskin, perfect for trendy tees, tops, blouses, tunics, layering, flowing skirts, dresses, sarong, etc. Easy care--please click on "sewing with onionskin" (top right of this page) for laundering and sewing tips. |
