From Italy, this is a Missoni-style ziggy sweater knit in a deep ruby red (18-1643 is close) with purple, black, apricot, aqua, jade and taupe "zigs". A lovely wool blend with a slight boucle-ish look, medium weight with lovely drape. The zig-zaggy stripes run vertically, and both selvedges have a zig-zag edging but it's a little "stringy" as some of these sweater knits can be. If you want to use the selvedges for decorative effect, you may have to clean them up a bit with some hand-work. Both sides are pretty. Has a fun, casual look---great with jeans, corduroys or leggings, for instance. Add boots for a fashion-forward look! Make a drapey cardigan or pullover, sweater dress, tunic top, etc. Dry cleaning recommended, or if you want to hand wash at home please test first. |
