From Chanel (yes, really!), made in Italy, this is an exquisite novelty boucle that is achieved through manipulated and appliqued yarns on a background of thin yarn strands (they are held in place by the applique stitching). Don't ask me how they made this happen...it's quite extraordinary when you take a close look, and quite fabulous even without analysis! The background color is a rich wine (PANTONE 19-2014), and the novelty yarns are a solid paprika/terracotta-ish tone (18-1451) and variegated shades of gray and brown. The stitching is in black. Treat this fabric like a soft and malleable suiting, or like a stable sweater knit, and make a jacket, cardigan, tunic, etc. Even more wonderful and dimensional in real life! Dry cleaning recommended. |
