From J. Mendell, made in France, this is a sophisticated and elegant suiting weight brocade/matelasse with a raised texture where the wavy lines are. Both sides are lovely, both sides are shown in the photo. The right side is black with raised "ribs", and the reverse shows two shades of black but it does not have the ribbed texture. Very difficult to capture in a photograph---it's much more gorgeous in real life! It is a medium suiting weight with a crisp drape, best for very tailored garments. For special occasion. Make a beautiful jacket, evening coat or suit, fitted dress, etc. Dry cleaning recommended.
