Shannon Gifford is a sewing instructor, fabric enthusiast, and sewing author from Cartersville, GA. She owned a custom clothing business for many years, specializing in special occasion wear, wardrobe construction, and stage costuming. She has worked for and with interior designers, theatrical productions, and in the workroom of a movie production. Currently, she teaches classes on the internet through her website, www.sensiblesewing.com.She also prepares and presents a variety of trunk-show based seminars, dealing with current designs, new fabrics, and alternative pattern options. She has been a contributor to several sewing related publications, including Threads magazine. Shannon and her husband of 25 years are the parents of four children, three of whom also sew.
