Ellen Tracy cotton/linen 'tweedy' sweater knit
origin: Ellen Tracy
This is a gorgeous cotton/linen knit from Ellen Tracy, a natural-toned (PANTONE 11-0602) beauty with a knit stitch that has a "scrambled", "tweedy" look, with a mix of matte fibers and fibers with a bit of sheen (all the same color). It's got a slightly open weave, so for some garments you may wish to line it. Nice sweatery give in the width, stable in the length, light weight (sport weight in yarn terms), beautiful drape. Make a drapey cardigan, twin set, pullover, dress, scarf, etc. Treat as you would any fine sweater knit. I would imagine there may be some shrinkage due to the fiber content but I have not tested it here. Also, I would imagine that this fabric could be dyed (although I am by no means an expert), giving this beauty even more versatility!
