Designer wool doublecloth knit coating - charcoal/midnight

contents: mostly wool blend
width: 53"
origin: designer deadstock/France
This exquisite fabric is a mostly wool doublecloth knit from a designer deadstock source in France. It is a combination of charcoal heather grey and deep midnight blue (PANTONE 18-3905 but lighter, and 19-3908 is close). Together the two layers form a stable doubleknit wool coating with just a bit of give in both directions. It's a medium-heavy weight that has body in the drape with a wonderful, slightly wooly surface texture and very soft feel. It doesn't fray, so you could quite easily make a reversible garment that will serve as a luxury neutral in your wardrobe for years to come. The layers do separate with some careful effort, but better to leave them as one because of the knit structure. Be sure to check our popular tutorial by Kathryn Brenne for a free pattern to make your own Balenciaga-inspired reversible coat cut from a single piece of fabric! Make a jacket, coat, cape, cocoon coat, etc. Dry cleaning recommended.
